So I've been experimenting with a few different location based social networks, namely: Whrrl, Foursquare, and Gowalla. Well, I've decided to pare down the experiment by one and suspend (maybe ditch all together) my participation with Gowalla.
- I'm frustrated that just because the app/iPhone can't get my location right, that it prevents me from checking in.
- In my usage, I find the location database only fair compared to Whrrl, and Foursquare.
- I just don't find it as interesting as the other two networks.
- My checking in at various locations already irks the hell out of my wife and so hopefully this'll make me a smidge less irksome.
So goodbye, Gowalla, and hello reclaimed 57x57 pixel iPhone real estate!
