O #Tannenbaum 2010 In Effect!

The tree is up and ready for presents!  Thanks to Paula and Isaac for initiating the decorations and general direction on style.  I also loved watching A Charlie Brown Christmas while decorating the tree and being reminded of the meaning of Christmas from Linus.  Of course, seeing the iconic Charlie Brown Christmas Tree is also a treat :)

Manly Task Item No. 28: Cut Down Own #Christmas Tree -- Check!

Had a great time at Enchanted Winds Tree Farm this past weekend. So did Isaac :)  Cutting your own fresh Christmas tree was one thing, but what made the occasion even more memorable, was that The Newfoundland Club of Seattle was there to assist with the ferrying of trees and kids alike from the cutting area to your car!  Great service, tons of cheer and happiness, and all around great trees.  Catering to Paula's request, this is going to be an easy tradition to hold onto.

Pumpkin Snail Love

Pumpkin Snail Love. Sounds like it could be an interesting name for a rock band. Alas, this is not what the post title means. During our Halloween Trick or Treating adventure, I came upon a house with a couple of pumpkins in the dark. Upon initial inspection, it looked like an interesting design with strange brown lumps coming out of the lid. Amidst trying to figure out how that element contributed to the design and effect of the jack-o-lanterns, I went in for an even closer look. When a few of them seemed to be moving, I used the camera flash to give me a moments look with some light. This is what the camera flash revealed:

Isaac's First "Real" Halloween

So Isaac's two.  And he certainly "celebrated" Halloween last year.  But this was the first Halloween where he actively went Trick or Treating.  The kid picked up the concept quite quickly.  After the first house, he was on a roll!  A tag team of cuteness with his 2 yo buddy Sequoia, the Easter basket turned Halloween basket filled up with candy lickety split :)

Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch Fun at The Farm at Swan's Trail

We had a great time this past weekend at The Farm at Swan's Trail in Snohomish, WA.  The pics in this post are pretty indicative of some happy toddler-times even when we ran into a few dead ends in the giant corn maze (in the shape of the state of Washington!).  Tractor train rides, fresh apple cider, some petting zoo action, and the hunt for the Great Pumpkin in the patch rounded out an unusually clear and crisp October afternoon.  Can't wait to carve the "green" pumpkin Isaac picked out.  That'll be in another post :)

My #PAX2010 Pix

Some pix from my very first PAX! It's definitely a fun time for those into gaming of any sort! Cosplay, dice, and lots of video radiation. Does one need anything more?
