I love the kiddie chopsticks @BoomNoodle!

If you have kids, or like using innovative chopstick technology, check out Boom Noodle either in Bellevue or their new-ish location in Seattle's University Village. Food and cocktails were tasty and inventive. The prices were pretty reasonable. And service was quick and courteous. BTW, the bowl pictures in this set is of their chicken ramen for kids. Presentation was great but the flavor could've been a bit more robust.

Had a great time at my 1st @soundersfc game!

Below are a few pics from my inaugural sporting event/inaugural professional soccer game/my inaugural visit to Qwest Field. Awesome weather, incredible energy from the fans, plenty of civility and sportsmanship (aside from the, "You suck, asshole!" chant :P) and where else but Seattle can you get a pad thai at a live professional sporting event outside of Thailand?!

Some pics from the Northwest Folklife Festival

A lot fun colorful people more than made up for the grey weather! From washboard bands to Senagalese drummers to the random jugglers on the lawns, there was plenty of music to fill the air.

There were also several groups campaigning to legalize marijuana, but that's a whole 'nother story!

Balloon fun after this past weekend's @GOTRPugetSound 5k

Contrary to the label of Girls On The Run 5k, Isaac and I had a nice leisurely stroll around Seward Park this past Saturday.

I guess that's why we finished dead last and went trough the ballooned finish arch as the volunteers were breaking it down. Of course the upside is that Isaac was able to request a couple of balloons during the breakdown process.

Also pictured is a shot of Bellevue from afar and across Lake Washington. The morning started off a bit overcast, but resolved into a sunny day by lunchtime.

So long, Gowalla

So I've been experimenting with a few different location based social networks, namely: Whrrl, Foursquare, and Gowalla. Well, I've decided to pare down the experiment by one and suspend (maybe ditch all together) my participation with Gowalla.

  1. I'm frustrated that just because the app/iPhone can't get my location right, that it prevents me from checking in.
  2. In my usage, I find the location database only fair compared to Whrrl, and Foursquare.
  3. I just don't find it as interesting as the other two networks.
  4. My checking in at various locations already irks the hell out of my wife and so hopefully this'll make me a smidge less irksome.

So goodbye, Gowalla, and hello reclaimed 57x57 pixel iPhone real estate!
